安装了 virtualenv 千防万防 python，没想到 pip 坏了。。。

这是连不上pypi.python.org吧换个pypi的源就好了比如v2ex的源 http://pypi.v2ex.com/simple
如果是Linux或Mac OS在 ~ 下新建 .pip 文件夹新建pip.conf文件把下面的内容写进去

index-url = http://pypi.v2ex.com/simple

似乎是没翻墙成功？不过好像 PyPI 已经不用翻墙了呀。

没遇到这情况，但是貌似是功夫网的问题吧。换源或者设置timeout试试？

这两位是正解

pip 的错误日志里面描述的是连 pypi.python.org 超时，而这个网站上面存储了你要安装的 Python 包，连不上导致了 pip 安装失败。并不表示 pip 就坏了。

可以换一个国内的 pypi 镜像，推荐中科大的： https://lug.ustc.edu.cn/wiki/mirrors/help/pypi

食用方法：

Windows：C:\Users\your_name\pip\pip.ini
*nix, OSX: ~/.pip/pip.conf

把下面两行写到上面对应的文件中，pip 就会使用中科大的镜像了。

我也遇到了这类问题，然而第二次输入 pip install virtualenv 就解决了，是网络连接问题？
